The following was supplied by his grand daughter, Majorie Burr.
He was tall, baldish and with a white beard - Katy said he never shaved, hence his beard was soft. He had been fair haired with blue eyes.
He admired Garibaldi, there is a picture of him in a black velvet jacket with red handkerchief.
Tommy, as was known, was illiterate.
He married Mary Ann Sringer and thereby hangs a tale (from Majorie Burr).
Majorie Burr went to Tommy's funeral as very young girl. She remembers it just like peter Hall's "Akenfield". Everyone walked behind his coffin which was on a farm cart pulled by a horse.
